18 Things I'm Thankful For in 2018

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

Don't worry: I know we all have final exams that we need to start studying for and Christmas lists we need to shop for, so I'll keep it short. Here are 18 things that I am thankful for this holiday season:

Bloggers.

For saying what you want, how you want, when you want it. I think it's incredibly brave.

Determination.

For helping me overcome difficult obstacles and go after my dreams.

Peter Thomas Roth Detox Cucumber Cleanser.

For keeping my skin under control-- even when I have two exams and a paper due the next day.

Real friends.

For supporting me and loving me.

The people that stand by me at protests for shutting down detention centers.

I attended a vigil to shut down Berks County Residential Center, a detention center for undocumented immigrants. It was extremely eyeopening. Read more about it here.

Fate.

For bringing me where I am today. I have met so many people who I wouldn't have crossed paths with otherwise. These people have expanded my views and helped shape the person I am today.

Pearl earrings.

For making me look classy even in yoga pants.

Cabrini University.

For giving me a quality education. I love learning and I love experiencing new things.

Sunshine.

Warm, sunny days will forever be my favorite.

My right to vote.

I think it is so important to voice your opinion through taking part in elections. Be the change.

Taylor Swift.

For writing a song that you can relate to at any point in a relationship-- from the honey moon stage to the never ending breakup. #WANEGBT

Language.

Being able to communicate with people is a beautiful thing. (I'm almost done my Spanish minor-- woo hoo!)

Psychology.

Understanding the human mind is an incredible experience. I am currently enrolled in four psychology courses and they are mind blowing. I am always analyzing people in my daily life. (Yes, I know I probably shouldn't do that.)

The ability to help others.

I currently teach English as a second language (ESL) to at risk migrant children and I love how rewarding the work is. Every chance you get to help someone: do it.

Risks.

For teaching me confidence.

Love.

For teaching me that it exists.

Failures.

My dad always told me that one learns more in their failures than they do in their successes. Whether someone walks out of your life or you do poorly on a test, you learn from it. Those failures have taught me how to approach those same situations differently.

My family.

For being incredible. My family has always stood behind me, whether I want to protest an issue, blog about my favorite makeup brands, or pursue a different career path. If it weren't for my family, I wouldn't have been able to grow and develop into the best version of myself.

I wouldn't be:

  • Pursuing a college education, studying psychology and Spanish
  • Taking part in my college's honors program
  • Graduating a year and a half early
  • Teaching English as a second language (ESL)
  • Running a blog that has 100,000+ views
  • Working with 50+ companies
  • Being inducted into Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES)
  • Advocating for immigration reform in the United States
  • Growing my confidence

Thank you so much to my family. I couldn't be more thankful for the love and support they give me. What are you thankful for? Are you thankful for your ex like Ariana? Or, are you simply thankful for a nice home cooked meal-- I know I am! Comment below!
