January Favorites

January has been wonderful. I've been sticking to a workout routine and attempting to accomplish my 2015 goals.

Here are my January favorites:

Beauty

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray- I've been using this setting spray ever since I got it. It makes my makeup last the whole day.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Nourishig Hand Cream by Bath & Body Works- This lotion smells amazing. I use it often before bed.

Wondertruck Enchanted perfume by Taylor Swift- I am in love with all of the Taylor Swift perfumes, but this one is especially my favorite. I tend to go for more of an elegant look, and this perfume tops my whole look off. It's perfect.

LUSH Lip Balm in Honey Trap- I'm going to purchase another one. During the winter season my lips tend to get really chapped. This lip balm cleaned them right up, (plus it smells amazing!)

Fashion

North Face- Very expensive, and oh so very worth it. The color is gorgeous and it's easy to wear over leggings, jeans, anything. I've been wearing it all month.

Michael Kors wallet- My new wallet! I'm obsessed. It has several card slots and two money pockets. It's an easy way for me to stay organized within my purse.

Alex and Ani bracelets- My go-to accessories lately. They're silver, so they go with my entire wardrobe. Perfect!

Music

"Work" by Iggy Azalea- Sweet song! To be honest, I've actually had Iggy on repeat on Spotify.

"Love Me Like You Mean It" by Kelsea Ballerini- The country sound is awesome! I love her voice!

"Bed of Lies" by Nicki Minaj, Skylar Grey- Overall, I love it! I typically fall for those songs that are relatable.

I've been listening to "Young Blood" by Bea Miller at least everyday. She's my go-to artist on Spotify while I'm doing homework.

Random

iPad Mini 3- This was one of my big Christmas gifts. I am 110% in love with it. I spend my time watching YouTube videos and making blog posts. I also take it to school since it's portable. Most of my essays are composed on it. So glad I got it for Christmas!

Trivia Crack- If you don't know what Trivia Crack is it's an app. It's trivia, but you can play against your friends and family. I'm currently schooling my sister.

My braces are off- Biggest excitement ever! It's been a lot of fun taking selfies with no metal in my mouth. You wouldn't even know the excitement, haha!

Blogs

And of course there are so many other blogs that I'm obsessed with. I've been reading these blogs a lot over the past month. Lovely posts! They always have me craving more.

Room Tour Collaboration

Rooms are a great way to express yourself. I found that my room represents me pretty well. Hopefully you get to know me on a deeper level through this post.

I am doing a room tour collaboration will Bella who is over at http://beautyblogsxo.blogspot.com/. She's a fantastic blogger. If you don't already know who she is, I would highly recommend you check her out.

When you first walk into my room you get a sniff of cinnamon from my wallflower. This is from Bath & Body Works.

Right passed my closet, I keep a storage bin. It holds some extra blankets and sweat pants.

Next I have my vanity. I got this for Christmas; and I'm absolutely in love with it. It's a lot bigger than my previous one which is very helpful.

On the left side I have a picture of my boyfriend and I, along with Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Enchanted perfume. In the middle I have a few easy access items: hand cream, Urban Decay setting spray, lip balms, hair ties, and a nail kit. As for the right side, there's a deodorant, a contain of lip products, cotton balls, and another hand cream.

In the drawers I have my other makeup products.

Left drawer- face products:
  • foundation
  • concealer
  • bronzer
  • blush
  • brushes

Right drawer- eye products:
  • mascara
  • eyeshadow
  • eyeshadow primer
  • eyelash curler
  • tweezer/scissors for eyebrows

My bed! So I actually don't use this plain black bed spread this often. I changed it about a week 1/2 ago because it was time for a change in sheets. The one I typically have on my bed throughout the year is a reversible comforter from Bed Bath and Beyond. It has a bunch of different cities on it. I have a picture of it in my last room tour for JOLLAP.

My previous room tour (+2 years ago):

I really like this part of my room. On the top row I have a picture of family, a dream decorative piece and a candle. On the bottom shelf I have a picture of my sister and I along with a quote. In the center, I have a book. You know the kind of book you keep stuff in? I keep my pandora bracelet in there with random pictures. Underneath that, I have a piano music box, which was my grandmothers. Next to that, I have my communion plaque. And then in the last cube, I have two photo frames, my angel, and my retainer case. Very exciting.

My night stand: lamp, jewelry holder (holds my everyday bracelets), two hand creams, and my iHome.

I'm still deciding how I want this to look. If you have any tips, please let me know.

On the very left side, I have my Louis Vuitton bag. Then I have a few Paris themed boxes. The one closest to the wall holds a few of my everyday scarves. The other one holds my nail polishes. The other two pieces hold jewelry. And lastly, I have my mannequin.

On my wall I have a picture of the Eiffel Tower from Home Goods.

My personal favorite part of my room: my desk! On the top, I have a bunch of pictures of just me and my friends!

On the main part of my desk I have two notebooks: a planner for my blog and a notebook for my blog. I also have Seventeen's Guide To Beauty.

Thanks Bella for doing this collaboration with me. That contains my room tour. I hope you all enjoyed this post.

#MotivationalMonday: The Fitness Tag

Towards the end of December I made a fitness routine for myself to follow during the month of January. I wanted to let you all know how I've been doing, as far as working out. I thought this tag would be the perfect way to inform you all.

How fit do you consider yourself to be? Are you happy with the shape you're in?
For my age group, I feel as though I could be in better condition. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say I'm at a 5, where the rest of my age group is about a 7. I am happy with the shape I'm in, but I'm not against losing a few pounds here and there.

Do you play any sports?
Yes, I play soccer, but not seriously.

Besides playing sports, do you exercise well?
Like I stated in my introduction, I made a fitness routine which I do 1-2 times a week. For a beginner, I think that's decent.

Do you have any fitness or health related goals?
(1) I'd like to drink a lot more water. I drink about 16 oz of water a day, but I want to start drinking eight 8-oz glasses. This means I have to start consuming 48 oz a day. I think it's possible. (2) I would like to eventually start working out 3-4 times a week by the time February and March approach. Soccer season will be starting in April.

Which celebrity's body would you like to have?
I've never really envied any celebrities for their body; I suppose I would like a celebrity who has a little bit of "meat" on her bones. Society is telling girls to be toothpicks, I just don't find that practical. Scarlett Johannson has a lovely body- it's most certainly more than bones, yet it's still in decent shape.

What's your favorite and/or least favorite exercise?
My favorite exercise is doing different soccer drills. I really like spending time with my friends and improving upon different skills. As for my least favorite activity, it would have to be jogging/running. It's kind of "boring" so to speak.

How important is leading an active and healthy lifestyle for you?
Very important. Being fit allows you to accomplish more. It also gives you a great confidence boost. Quick story: the summer of 2012 I didn't feel comfortable in my skin. I felt slightly overweight compared to the people around me. The summer of 2013, I realized I wanted to be like those other girls. I started working out a little more to get my desired body shape. I felt so much more confident!

How much attention to a healthy diet do you pay?
Honestly, I don't pay as much attention as I should to my diet.

What's your biggest diet secret?
I don't really have a diet "secret". I recommend drinking a lot of water throughout the day over soda and other sugary drinks.

Do you smoke, or have you ever smoked in the past?
No, nor do I plan to.

The app PumpUp; it's one of my favorite for working out.

I hope you enjoyed this tag. How do you stay fit? What exercises do you do? Any special apps? Comment it all below!

Respect Yourself

I think it's important to always stay true to yourself. About a year ago, I would have been scared to be myself, but now, I am comfortable in my own skin and I am not afraid to explain my own theories.

By all of this, I simply mean changing yourself for someone. A guy perhaps?

I don't think I'd be able to live with myself if I didn't make this post. So here is to the girls...
  • who have been broken
  • who have been scared (of a guy)
  • who have been silenced
  • who have been abused
  • who have found hope in the end
  • who will find hope in the end

My Tips- Saying No To Peer Pressure

1. The first time he asks for a picture or pressures you into doing something you're not comfortable with tell him you're not comfortable. Don't dance around the subject. Firmly state that you're not ready for that activity yet. Everyone develops at different rates. If you don't say anything, he could continue to pressure you and you may just fall into it.

2. I always keep this in the back of my mind: when you say no to sexual activity, chances are he'll try to persuade you. You know, "If you loved me, you would." Oh, please. Don't fall into that sort of manipulation. If he can't wait then that's his loss. You shouldn't be wasting your time with a boy who only wants your body. You can do so much better!

3. You only have one body. Don't give it up easily.

Please remember to always stay true to yourself. Always.
4. Keep the line of communication open with your parents. I know we all dread talking to our parents about sex and drugs, but trust me they're the best people to go to. Whenever I have an issue I immediately talk to my parents. They've been through high school before. They're going to want to guide you in the right direction.

5. Falling apart is okay. So you had yourself hooked on the boy. You thought you two were going to get married, just by the way he said your name. Well, you said no and he said goodbye. So you cry. And that's okay. That's more than okay.

6. So it happened. So what? The best part about it all is that it made you stronger. You hold the confidence and respect that a woman should wear everyday. Approximately 42% of teenagers are having sex at this age- maybe they're ready and maybe they're not. And if they're not, you've got them beat. You're saving yourself for that special person.

Statistics On Peer Pressure

1. Every hour of every day, two American young people contract HIV, 96 become pregnant, and nearly 350 more contract a sexually transmitted disease (U.S. Public Health Service, 2001).

2. Young men are more likely than young women to become sexually active at younger ages, 12 percent and 4 percent, respectively. Males are more likely than females to report having had four or more sexual partners (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2000c).

3. One-third of teenage males feel pressure from their friends to have sex (Kaiser Family Foundation).

4. 23 percent of females feel pressure from their friends to have sex (Kaiser Family Foundation).

 Don't increase these numbers. If you're ready for different activities, then go for it! In the end, just remember to respect yourself.

If you're interested in my story you can click here. This is the first time that I opened up on an explicit level with my readers. Since it's a new year I intend on doing it more often.

Thank you so much for reading! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Accessories For Everyday of the Week

Looking for a way to instantly change your look over the week to make it even more glamorous?

Try out these accessories to transform your look throughout the week:

// Sunday- Stacked Rings //

Going out to the mall with your friends? I've got you covered for when you meet that cute guy at the frozen yogurt stand. Try a simple nail design, and then amp up your look with some stacked rings. (Remember to apply lotion to your hands because he's going to want to check those cool rings out!)

// Monday- Ballet Flats //

Feeling preppy? Skinny jeans, a collared shirt, sweater, and ballet flats! Ballet flats instantly add a touch of girlyness to your look. Buy a comfortable pair in a versatile color like black. They're easy to throw on when you're running late and you have a math test first period.

// Tuesday- Flower Crown //

A flower crown can give you a boho vibe without overdoing it. If you're looking to experiment with a bohemian look, try wearing a small flower crown with loose curls. It's a perfect way to transition into the spring season too! I got my small flower crown from Pacsun.

// Wednesday- Charm Bracelet //

At this point we're all just trying to get through the week. We all have that special charm bracelet that are mom or grandmother bought. Maybe your boyfriend got it for you for your 6 months. Either way, you can totally use that to amp up your outfit. If you're wearing a simple tee and jeans. Add your charm bracelet for some sparkle.

// Thursday- Bows //

Bows. Bows. Bows. Every girl need a bow. They can make your look more preppy or girly. I tend to curl my hair and do a half up, half down hairstyle. Very simple and can transform my look completely. You can look chic with a pair of leggings and an over sized sweater. It's the perfect look for that Thursday when you have a study date with your crush after school.

// Friday- Scarf //

There are so many different ways to wear a scarf to fit your style. Feeling lazy, try the first option. Nobody has to know. Feeling classy? Wear the 6th option. Either way you'll look glamorous!

I have so many scarves; I actually just got one for Christmas. It's beautiful. I can't wait to style it.

// Saturday- Skinny Belt //

Here's for the cool kids who actually have a party to go to! Wearing a dress? Add a skinny belt to show off your waist line. Or, if it's one of those hanging-out-party-type-things trying light wash jeans and your favorite band tee. You're guaranteed a conversation starter with that cutie from French.

That concludes today's post. I hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading,
