March Favorites

Hello everyone!

Since it's the end of the month I thought I would share some of my favorites with you. I've been loving all of these products lately. Enjoy!

Beauty

Braided Hair Grips-My sister recently got her hands on these braided hair grips from Target. They work really well. (Plus, they're cute to wear around your wrist as opposed to a typical hair tie. I always keep at least one on my wrist, especially now that I'm always on the go.)

Nail Polish from Ulta in the color "Pink Encore"- I absolutely love this color. It's the perfect color to transition into spring with. It's a light pink so it does give off a spring vibe, but it's also very natural looking.

Fresh Foaming Cleanser by Neutrogena- This is my new favorite makeup remover. I keep it in my shower, that way I can take care of everything at once. It cuts my skincare routine time in half. It gets rid of all of my makeup as opposed to some cleansers which don't remove all of my mascara.

Pond's Dry Skin Cream- I started using the Clinique 3 Step System; the toner was way too harsh for my skin. My skin immediately dried out. It was all red and just gross looking. It was like that for a week. I was so embarrassed! My grandma picked me up this face lotion. My skin was back to normal instantly. So thankful for this product.

Fashion

Light weight scarves- Where I live the weather is somewhat unpredictable. I've been wearing light weight scarves to keep me warm in the morning, yet they're not heavy for the mid-afternoon when it warms up. I've been constantly wearing a black and white one with Marilyn Monroe's face printed all over it. (Yes, that would be my feminist side coming out.)

*The yellow scarf is from American Eagle Outfitters. The other two scarfs are from a local market.

Peplum tops- Like the normal teenage girl I tend to get insecure about my body every now and then. I love pairing peplum tops with leggings and skinny jeans to balance out the look.

I also have a white peplum top with black detailing. You can see it in a previous blog post by clicking here.

Other

App: Shopkick- This such a cool app. I discovered it while on Pinterest. It was one of the top 10 apps for college students to have. You can earn gift cards to participating stores by walking into the store, scanning products, and buying things. I have tried it before in Target and it worked great! (I think I used about $10 at Target.)

App: Bloglovin- I've had this app for a long time, but they recently updated. I love using it for it's convenience. If I have to stay after school for something and I finish early, which waiting for one of my parents to come pick me up, I read some of my favorite blogs.

My Spring Wish List

Hi everyone! x

Spring is right around the corner- I can barely wait! In honor of the new season I decided to share with you my spring wish list. Enjoy! x

1. White Belt // Forever New Chiara Strap Belt
Whenever I see a good deal I can't resist it. Throughout the past few months I've picked up some spring and summer dresses with white accents. A white skinny belt would be the perfect accessory to balance out the look.

2. Something Lavender // Self Esteem Cap-Sleeve Tie-Front Top
I love the  color lavender; it's so pretty and girly. I have one v-neck from Abercrombie & Fitch that's the perfect shade of lavender. My goal is to add some more lavender pieces to my wardrobe to give it more of a spring vibe.

3. New Sports Bras // Nike Pro Victory Compression Sports Bra
Soccer season is approaching! I'm super excited, but I definitely need some new sports bras for the season. I've heard some great things about Victoria's Secret sports bras, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend over $50 on one.

4. Nude Lipstick // Lipstick Sheer
A nude lipstick would be a great addition to my lip collection. I don't have that many nude colors- come to think of it, I don't have any. I typically lean towards pinky or mauve-y shades. I want to go for more of a natural look during the spring, rather than piling on the foundation and powder. Maybe a BB cream and nude lip? Sounds good to me!

5. Bene-tint // Posietint
I've heard such great reviews about this product that I'm ready to try it out for myself. Because it's both a cheek and lip stain it will application a lot faster in the morning- which is something I crave on those mornings I want to sleep my life away.

6. Platform Shoes // Steve Madden Women's Orka Platform Shoes
I probably won't be able to walk in them, but eventually I'll get the hang of it. I want a simple pair of wedges or platform shoes. Just something to amp up my wardrobe a bit. (I am slightly vertically challenged, so a bit of height would do me good!)

7. Mango Scented Body Mist // Beach Body Mist
Mango is my go-to scent during the spring and summer seasons. It's fruity and fun! Very appropriate for all spring and summer events- dates, work, etc. I've never tried out this scent before, but I've heard several good things about VS perfumes from Trisha Paytas on YouTube.

8. Balance Square Necklace //Balance Medium Square Bar Necklace
I was browsing Pinterest (like every other teenage girl) before bed and came across this dainty piece of jewelry. I instantly fell in love. It instantly added something to the outfit. It made it look completely put together. It would be a great addition to my wardrobe since I lean towards lower cut shirts during spring and summer. (All in good taste of course.)

What are some things on your wish list for the spring season?

My Blogging Tips

Hello everyone!

Today I decided to share with you some of my top blogging tips. I've found some of these tips through other bloggers, Pinterest, Google, and experience. I hope you enjoy this post and find my tips useful.

1. Have many units of organization.
I recommend having at least one planner dedicated to your blog.

I got this one for Christmas from Target. It's very small and compact, therefore I can throw it in my purse or backpack. (I take my iPad mini 3 with my to school, so if I don't have any school work to do during a free period, I can work on a blog post.)

By the end of this post, you might get the idea that I'm a neat freak. I like to color code my posts:

Lifestyle
Fashion
A Little Bit of Everything
Beauty
Life Update

It helps me know what posts I need more of. So, if you're a beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blogger this can help you keep a nice balance of variety on your blog.

2. Use the schedule tool to stick to routine.

I like to post on Mondays, obviously, (and sometimes on Saturdays if I have too many post ideas for that month.) On the weekends, I can be very, very busy or completely free. When I am completely free I like to prepare 2-3 blog posts and schedule them for next month.

3. Keep a notebook or computer document with a list of ideas.

I tend to lean towards keeping a computer document with a list of seasonal ideas. Then, I group them into months. That way, when I'm ready for that month I can plug them into a certain day and start drafting. When that month comes around, I like to draft my posts in this notebook. It's from Vera Bradley in the "Sittin' In A Tree" pattern. Super cute!

It helps me stay on track of things, especially since I play soccer, participate in a few different school clubs, and take several honors classes. My schedule gets busy pretty quickly.

*Typically when I'm in a rush I put an idea in the notes app on my phone. Sometimes I have a steam of ideas. When it gets to that point I plug them in on my calendar.

4. Set goals!

It's important to have something to work towards. My Google account is literally my best friend- my email, drive, calendar, and the classroom for school purposes.

I have a whole folder dedicated to blogging. As a document in this folder, I keep a table. It has my goals for a specific month: how many followers I want to achieve via Bloglovin' and GFC. It also has the page views I want to gain. By the end of the month, I put the number of followers and page views I earner throughout the month.

5. Engage in social media.

Like every other teenage girl in the world I am addicted to my cell phone. Like every other teenage girl my "life" is on it. Apps you need to help you improve your blog:

Blogger/Wordpress: Depending on which platform you use download to blog on the go. I like to have Blogger on my phone because it makes photo uploading a lot easier.

Pinterest: This is my favorite place to find inspiration. That's actually where I found inspiration for this blog post. There were so many pins with tips for bloggers. I have a board completely dedicated to blogging and journalism. You can check out my Pinterest by clicking the icon on the right side bar.

Twitter: If I have some free time on a Sunday afternoon, I like to engage in blog chats. Talking to other bloggers helps gain a bit of traffic to your blog.

Facebook: There are plenty of Facebook groups for teen bloggers like you and me. I've joined a few. It's a great place to expose yourself to new content as well as expose others to the wonderful content on your own blog.

We Heart It: When I'm in desperate need of a picture or gif I check out We Heart It. They always have some Tumblr-like pics.

Bloglovin': Sometimes I spend my afternoons in my library. When I finish my work and I'm waiting for one of my lovely parents to come pick me up, I read some of my favorite blogs. It's quick and easy.

CalenMob: This is my favorite calendar app because it syncs to my iPad, Google Calendar, etc. So helpful!

*I was recently at a journalism conference. One of the speaker's said that the best way to find ideas is through Twitter and Facebook. I've started writing down some of the ideas down on an index card-this is what my creative writing teacher does- to keep track of them. It helps out a lot!
