My Winter Essentials 2016

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Since yesterday was the first day of winter, I decided to share some of my winter essentials with y'all! I love all things that keep me cozy and warm:

LIP BALM

Lip balm is definitely my number one essential during the winter season. My all time favorite is from Jack Black, but a close second is Nivea pots. Not only do they smell delicious, they go on smoothly. I like to apply lip balm generously throughout the day.

TERVIS

I highly recommend having a tervis during this time of year. I love the Simply Southern ones, but I use one with my initial on it; I also have one from the college I am attending.

They hold both hot and cold drinks- super convenient! Right? Hot drinks for the morning while I'm walking from my car to school. And then, a nice cold drink to keep my skin hydrated throughout the day.

SCARVES AND GLOVES

Scarves are my number one accessory. Yes, I own over 20. Yes, it's a problem. And yes, I don't care. I love them so much-- especially blanket scarves. I also enjoy wearing gloves. I have a white/cream pair that I wear all the time. I also have a burgundy pair.

BOOT SOCKS

Boot socks are another accessory go-to of mine (despite the fact that I only own three pair). They instantly glam up an outfit! 

TO DO LIST PADS

During this time of year, I am extremely busy! My teachers are cramming in last minute tests, while my blog post ideas are running out; not to mention I have all of my girlfriends to shop for-- and my boyfriend! I have holiday parties and other festivities to attend. It's almost impossible to manage it all. Without a to do list, I wouldn't be able to complete all of my activities.

COMFY, COZY SWEATERS

I love, love, love sweaters! I like to pair a chunky sweater with leggings, boots, and boot socks. Not to mention, a scarf! Throw my hair up in a messy pony tail and I'm good to go. If I want to go the extra mile, I'll throw on some cute stud earrings and my favorite Alex and Ani bangles. Slay!

How To Accessorize Your Holiday Wear

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! This post is all about accessories! I love accessorizing my looks to make them more girly and fun. With that all being said, here are some accessories I specifically use around this time of year:


WRAP YOURSELF UP IN A SCARF

If you've been around for awhile, you know that I take my scarf game seriously. My go to outfit is: brown Lauren Conrad knee high boots, dark skinny jeans, and a sweater. I immediately gravitate towards a sweater to dress it up. Blanket scarves are my absolute favorite!

SLIP INTO A BANGLE

Alex and Ani bangles are another fav! I have seven, but I wear the same three all the time. I wear my initial, the Path of Life charm, and my zodiac sign. I love them to pieces! They just add a little something more to my outfits.

TRY SOME STUDS

My boyfriend bought me a pair of stud earrings for my birthday. They are the prettiest earrings I've ever seen! They go with anything and everything!

SPORT A HEADBAND

Headbands are a great option if you're going to be outside for a long period of time. Not only will you be in style, but your ears will be nice and toasty!

SLAY IT WITH A CLUTCH

Purses make or break an outfit as far as I'm concerned. I love clutches- especially sparkly ones for this time of year. They are perfect for New Years Eve parties. I also love cross body bags; they leave my hands free for when I'm shopping.

MAKE A STATEMENT

If all else fails, I recommend making a statement with your favorite chunky watch. If you don't have one, I guarantee your mom will! My godfather bought me a beautiful rose gold Michael Kors watch for my birthday two years ago.


Those are the six ways I accessorize my winter wear. During this time of year I am constantly on the move; so when I'm in a pinch, these accessories help me out. Overall, I find that these accessories dress up my outfit to make it look more put together.

Rainforest of The Sea Skincare Line

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my main blog! I hope y'all have been enjoying my Blogmas posts on my second blog, Guilianna's Life. I've been posting on there everyday!

So, enough about my second blog, let's talk skincare! A few weeks ago I went to New York City with my mom, sister, and grandmother. Though it was extremely hectic, I had a lot of fun. While I was there, I went into Sephora- of course; and I came across a sampler package of some skincare products from Tarte's latest line: Rainforest of The Sea.



Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser 

Out of the four products in the box, this is the one that caught my eye the most. This product is not only vegan friendly, but also hypoallergenic, and dermatologist tested. My favorite part about this product is that I don't have to get my hands dirty during the application process. (This makes for a great travel product, by the way!)


Lip Facial Lip Scrub

I love lip scrubs! Awhile back, I purchased one from LUSH Cosmetics. Unfortunately, it was very messy because it came in a pot. This lip scrub comes just like a lip stick. All you have to do is twist for application. I love how, like the Frxxxtion Stick, it is mess free! Which again, makes for a great travel product. During the holiday season, when my lips are just building up with excess skin, this product will be found in my purse.


Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost

According to Tarte's website, the Drink of H2O Hydrating boost is "a refreshing, lightweight gel moisturizer to help quench dry, dehydrated skin." I couldn't agree more! I love applying it to my chin, cheeks, and under eyes before bed. I wake up with clean, hydrated, and refreshed skin.

4-1 Setting Mist

This mist is your new holy grail. I personally think it's Tarte's best product from their Rainforest of The Sea collection. This mist works as a setting spray, primer, hydrating mist and skin refresher.  I've used it as a primer and hydrating mist. In both cases, it's worked wonders! I have yet to use it as a setting spray because I have a huge tube of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. This is definitely a product I can see myself repurchasing because of it's multipurpose usage.

My Everyday Winter Makeup

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I'm sharing my winter makeup routine with y'all! I hope you like it:

MOISTURIZE. MOISTURIZE. MOISTURIZE. 


In all honesty, I probably apply 2-3 coats of my moisturizer. My skin gets so dry and flaky during this time of the year. It's just not cute! Ya know? And don't forget your lips! I like to cake this on, too!

PRIME FACE.


This time of the year is so stressful- I'm breaking out all around my jawline. Therefore, I like to use a canceling primer

BAKE UNDER EYES FOR 3 MINUTES. 


Like I said earlier, this time of the year is STRESSFUL. I'm hardly getting any sleep. I like to use a brightening under eye concealer, then set it with a powder. I then let my face bake for 3 minutes.

WHILE LETTING FACE BAKE, APPLY CONCEALER. 


While my face is baking, I like to apply concealer. I apply it to the spots where I have acne... but I don't blend. I let it melt into my skin. I find that I get the most coverage that way; and it looks natural. After 5ish minutes, I go back and blend it out with a concealer blush and/or my ring finger.

TIGHT LINE UPPER LASH LINE AND LINE THE OTER HALF OF THE LOWER LASH LINE.


I like to use my eyeliner from Marc Jacobs, as it goes on very smoothly. I tight line my upper lash line, and then I apply the product to the outer half of my lower lash line. If it looks too harsh, I use a smudge brush to blend it out for a smokier look.

APPLY FAVORITE MASCARA.


I'm always switching up my mascaras. Lately, I've been using Voluptuous Volume Mascara from Ulta in the shade Black/Brown. I find that it looks extremely natural.

APPLY A BAKED BLUSH AND SWIRL IT UP TO YOUR TEMPLES.


I love the look of baked blushes. I specifically like Laura Geller's Baked Blush-n-Brighten blushes. Swirl the product up to your temples for a more natural finish. I'm all about that natural glow! 

COMB THROUGH EYEBROWS. 


I simply don't have time to deal with my brows, so I just comb through them with a spoolie. If I had a clear mascara, I would probably set them with that, but I don't have any at the moment.


SET IT!


If you've been coming back to this blog for quite some time, you know that I never finish a makeup look without setting it with my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

The Winterlicious Tag

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my main blog! I've been extremely busy lately- baking, cleaning, and doing school work. With that being said, I pulled this quick tag off of YouTube. Though this post is short, I thought it was still fun to compose!



Favorite winter nail polish?

My favorite winter nail polish is anything red... I also like anything pink and sparkly. Lately, I've been loving Princess Rule! by OPI. It's a frosty pink color. Perfect for this winter season!

Favorite winter lip product?

Lately, I've been loving Nivea's Lip Butter Cocoa Butter. Not only does it smell yummy, but it keeps my lips hydrated throughout the entire day.

Most worn winter clothing piece?

I love boot socks. They keep my piggies toasty, while still making my outfit cute and chic.

Most worn winter accessory?

I am definitely a scarf junkie. I have at least twenty scarves! I especially like blanket scarves. I have a reservable one from Kohls that I wear all the time; and I also have a blue/gray one that I purchased from Target. It's perfect for lazy days.

Favorite winter scent?

I love anything peppermint scented! Though my all time favorite perfume for the colder months is Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Enchanted.

Favorite winter beverage?

I love hot chocolate! Mmm! I appreciate a cup of homemade hot chocolate, but I am always in the mood to hit up Starbucks for a cozy drink. I also really like Wawa's hot chocolate.

Favorite holiday movie?

I definitely have to go with ELF. It never fails to make me laugh.

Favorite holiday treat?

I love warm, homemade chocolate chip cookies. My grandmother slays when it comes to cookie baking!

Favorite Christmas decoration?

I love poinsettias. I think they are so pretty! My mom wraps fake poinsettias around the hand railings. It looks gorgeous! (If she does it this year, a picture will most definitely be on my Twitter/second blog.)

What's at the top of your wishlist?

I don't have anything at the top of my wishlist this year. I'm all about surprises this year!

What are your plans for the holidays this year?

My family is staying home this year as opposed to going to Florida. I plan on spending time with my friends and family- baking, eating, snuggling, and loving!

I have two pencil eyeliners, yet no pencil sharpener. I figured I would add it to my list.


All Nighter Make-Up Setting Spray from Urban Decay

Every single year I get this product. Ulta stores always have a brilliant 2-for-1 deal when it comes to this product.


Smooth Delivery Makeup Sponges from the Sephora Collection

I go in phases: sometimes I like brushes, and sometimes I like sponges. Oh, and sometimes I just like to use my fingers. I find that I have really good control with my fingers; but as of lately, I've been wanting to try these sponges.


Cheek Stain from Tarte

My cheek products are running low, and I thought it was time to restock on those. Therefore, I asked for this cheek stain. Tarte products never fail to amaze me, so why not?


The Cozy Short Robe from Victoria's Secret

I love, love, love Victoria's Secret, especially for their robe collection. I remember the first time I received a Victoria's Secret robe. It was the softest thing ever. I wore that thing all the time! Now, it's getting a little "dingy" so I decided to ask for a new one. I mean, I've had it for five years now!


Lace Cross-Back Bralette from Aerie

I will be the first to admit: I hate big, bulky bras. When I discovered bralettes, my life instantly changed. I currently have a gray one and a white one, but I definitely want to expand my collection. They are just so, so comfortable!


Chill Hi-Rise Legging from Aerie

Seven words: you can never have too many leggings.


S’well Water Bottle

S'well water bottles have definitely hit the charts where I live. I discovered them at Starbucks a few weeks ago. According to their label, their job is to keep drinks cold for 24 hours and hot up to 12 hours. That's pretty cool! I asked for this because I am going to be commuting to college. Having a hot drink for a 40 minutes ride wouldn't be such a bad thing. Right?


Tea Tree Water from LUSH Cosmetics

I love LUSH Cosmetics; and I hate my acne. I've heard some fantastic reviews about this product, and I deep down think this product might just be the one for me.

Top 10 Winter Festivities

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! To kick off December, I decided to share some of my favorite things to do during the winter season.



Without further ado, let's get into my top 10 winter festivities:

10. Get cozy and snuggle up to a good book. 

Grab your warmest pajamas and your fuzziest blanket!

9. Drink some hot chocolate and have a deep conversation with someone.

I love, love, love hot chocolate, whether it be from Starbucks, Wawa, or my own kitchen. I just love the smell of it and the way it makes me feel. Why not head to Starbucks with a cutie and chit chat for awhile?

8. Have a movie day.

My boyfriend and I are already planning this! And, I already added Elf to our list.

7. Go ice skating.

I've gone ice skating once. I'm not sure if I have a strong desire to do it again, but it could be fun.

6. What about snowboarding? Or skiing?

I'd love to try snowboarding, though sledding is more my style.

5. Go to the mall.

I love going to the mall during this time of year. Got to take advantage of those deals!

4. Bake cookies.

I can't wait to bake some cookies this season. My personal favorites are chocolate chip and snickerdoodle. Mmm!

3. Go to New York City.

I'm actually going to New York City in a few days. I'm so excited!

2. Check out some local winter festivals.

I checked out what winter festivals were happening around me- and they actually sound pretty cool! For example, there's going to be an ice sculpture exhibit like thing- hopefully that made sense, haha!

1. Build a gingerbread house.

Gingerbread houses are so much fun to make. Definitely adding this on my to do list for the winter season!

Hunter Tall Refined Back Strap Rubber Wellingtons

I've seen these boots trending on Pinterest for the longest time. I would love to get my hands on these boots before the winter season is over. They'd be perfect for transitioning into the spring season. (It gets super rainy here in April!)

If you have a preppy style, there's no doubt you own a pair of Sperry Topsider boat shoes. These boots are no exception for your preppy collection.

Q&A: Celebrating One Year

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Happy Turkey Day, everyone! Because it is Thanksgiving, I wanted to formally introduce you all to someone who I am extremely thankful for.

This past Sunday, I celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend, Kyle. In honor of that, I decided to do a Q&A since my last one went over so well. Let's get into the questions:




Hannah: What's one piece of advice you have for young couples for staying together for so long?

G: My number one piece of advice is to respect one another. Kyle and I aren't always on the same page when it comes to different ideas, but we still let the other person talk. I highly recommend allowing the other person to speak before interrupting. As much I try not to be guilty of that, sometimes I am.

K: I feel like if you're trying to stay together, then that's a problem. If your conciosuly trying to stay together then there is a continuous problem. For us, it just feels right and that's what I like. I've just been enjoying our relationship... Because that's what I like and that's what I want.

Anna: What's one thing you love about each other?

G: My favorite thing about Kyle is how strong he is in his faith. I think that says a lot about his character. He is always willing to go the extra mile for someone in need. I love that about him.

K: This might sound kind of corny and mushy, but I love how whenever I see her and she smiles at me... like the feeling I get from that. I love a lot. It warms me up!

Vanessa: Favorite thing to do as a couple?

G: As much as I enjoy exploring new places and trying new things with Kyle, I definitely like spending nights in. I just loving popping in a Disney movie- my favorite is Finding Nemo- and just relaxing. That's exactly what I need after a long work week, too!

K: I don't know if I can say one absolute thing. I like just spending time on the couch- talking or whatever- but at the same time when we go out and do something that's special. All around, our time alone is just super special.

Ailbhe: How did you meet?

G: We've gone to school together since the 4th grade. It wasn't until the 8th grade until we started hanging out.

Makeup Look | Harvest Ball 2016

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! On Friday, I attended Harvest Ball. Last year, it was one of the best nights of my life. I had an absolutely blast. This time it was 10 times better!



With that all being said, I wanted to show you the makeup I wore to this formal event. Click around on the products for a direct link:


I started off with my favorite primer from Clinique

⭐I then went in with a green concealer to cancel any red spots that I had. 

⭐After blending that in over my acne, I concealed my under eyes. I love baking my face, so I used a pressed powder and forced that into my under eye concealer.

⭐I let that sit for about 3 minutes. Then, I used a big, fluffy powder brush to erase the excess powder. Then, I went it with my foundation from Mally Beauty. I used my foundation brush to blend everything out. 

⭐With any remaining visible acne, I put a spot treatment concealer over it. I didn't rub it in, though! I let it sit on top of the spot, allowing it to melt into my skin for the best coverage possible.

⭐I then applied my new favorite baked blush.

⭐And of course you can't forget highlighter! Benefit's High-Beam is the perfect concealer for any occasion.  



⭐I started off with my primer from Too Faced.


⭐I then began creating my natural smokey eye with my Trust In Love palette from Stila.

⭐I applied the shade Light Pink all over my lid to create an even base. I then patted Nude Shimmer onto my eyelid. For my crease, I used the color Stone. Because I wanted more of a smokey eye, I used the shade Fog. I applied this shade in the outer corner of my lid for more definition. For a highlight, I used the shade Snowflake. I applied this under my brow, and on the inner corners of my eyes. 

⭐To ensure everything was blended to my liking, I used a blending brush from Sephora. This ensured there were no harsh lines or anything of the sort.

⭐Following that, I tight lined my upper lash line with my favorite eyeliner from Marc Jacobs. It glides on so smoothly.

⭐I also lined the outer half of my lower lash line. I didn't want it to be too harsh, therefore I only lined half.

⭐Lastly, I applied Too Face's Better Than Sex mascara. This mascara definitely completes my eye look. 


A few weeks ago, I went to Lush with my mom. While there, I purchased this adorable little fairy. She has a light fruity scent, but more importantly she provides me with shimmer. I applied this shimmer to my wrists and collarbones to make them stand out a little more.

⭐Because the scent isn't super strong at all, I sprayed my favorite perfume of all time on: Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck Enchanted.


⭐I got my nails done on Thursday, a day before the dance. I decided to go with this pink color. I love, love, love it! It's called Princesses Rule! by OPI.

Blog Printables That Have Changed My Life

Weekly To Do List from Designer Blogs

Whenever I have a busy week, I always gravitate towards this printable. First of all, it's cute! Second of all, it has enough room for all of the tasks I need to complete. For example, I put heavy duty school assignments on this printable, along with blog to dos, chores, etc.

Crossing off tasks not only makes me feel accomplished, but motivates me to do more!


Project Organization Planner From Maxine Renee Designs

I like to use this printable when I am working with brands and other bloggers. I find that it helps me produce the best work possible. And, when I have multiple projects going on, there is a space in the top left corner to write who the project is for. I think that's super convenient!

Cute and Crafty 2016 Printable Calendar from iMom

I love using calendars! I'd much rather use this printable than having an editorial calendar online. I like that I can manipulate it how I want with ease. Click here to view all of their 2016 calendars. I'm crossing my fingers that they come out with a  2017 set of calendars.

Work Tasks From Picklebums

I just printed this for 2017. I'm planning on placing themes in the boxes. Then, I'll go back to my monthly calendars and plan posts according to that theme.

My Fall Playlist 2016

On November 1, 2016 Little Big Town dropped "Better Man," a track written by the one and only Taylor Swift. I absolutely love this song! Taylor Swift has a way of making her songs relatable; and that's exactly what I love about them. We've all gone through a toxic relationship before. And in all honestly, if only the other person would have given a little bit more effort, then y'all two might still be together. 

We might still be in love if you were a better man.


"Setting The World On Fire" by Kenny Chesney and P!nk

Again, another country single that I love. In all honesty, I love any country male and female duet. Take me back to Brad Paisley's and Carrie Underwood's "Remind Me." 

I wrote I love you in lipstick on the mirror.


"Vice"by Miranda Lambert 

I just love Miranda's voice. It is extremely country with a touch of sweet. 

Where the numb meets the lonely.


"Rewind" by Wingtip ft. Sophie Strauss

The first time I heard this song I immediately fell in love. I think summer has a way of enhancing romance. September is when that love breaks and November is the time when you start to crave it back. 

I remember when I met you / Soft in the summer breeze.

James Arthur has such a unique voice. His songs also give you all sorts of feels.

For a minute I was stone cold sober.


"Dirty Laundry" by Carrie Underwood 

Carrie Underwood has always been one of my favorite country superstars. She's so daring, yet elegant. This track reveals that to a tee. 

You shoulda burned it, you shoulda lost it.


"Trust Nobody" by Cashmere Cat ft. Tory Lanez, Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez has always been one of my favorite singers in general, after Taylor Swift that is. This song is so much fun! I'm always listening to it when I'm doing chores.

"Don't Wanna Know" by Maroon 5 ft. Kendrick Lamar

This is definitely my car jam. I've always loved Adam; how can you not?

Baby, every place I go reminds me of you.

I've only listened to this song about three times, but I love it. I think it has such a cool beat and stamina to it.

I just love this song. Enough said.

10 Things I Do During My Study Hall

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! I am definitely moving my blog towards a lifestyle base, if you couldn't tell. I just keep on wanting to post about school related things (Maybe that's because I am so excited about my college career- who knows?!)

I have one study hall everyday. This study hall happens during third period (9:40-10:24 a.m.). I like to take my study halls to the library as opposed to the cafeteria where it is extremely loud. I like the library because it is quiet... and people are more spread out. I like my space, what can I say?



I update my planner.

I like to take the time to go through my planner and ensure all of my assignments and events are where I expect them to be. For example, if I have a project that's coming up, I like to make note of that deadline.

I also take the time to look over blog posts that are coming up. Hopefully I've completed them in time. Lately I've been slacking on that. So, when I have a spare second in study hall, I glance over it!


I check my email.

I check my email all the time; especially when I send emails to my college counselors; I want to ensure that I am getting back to them in a timely manner.

This, again, also relates to my blog. I want to ensure that I am getting back to my collaborators in a timely manner.


I prep/study.

I really like prepping for my classes. My study hall comes right before my CE Spanish IV class. I like to review the week's plans, review vocabulary, etc. I find that I am a lot more confident going into the class.

And of course, I study! I study for all sorts of things, specially human physiology. We're always having tests and quizzes!


I check my teachers' webpages for updated information.

This is a big one! If your teacher has a web page or somewhere where he/she can post weekly assignments, check it! Sometimes, my Journalism teacher will post extra credit opportunities. Yay!

Also, my economics teacher posts Power Points. I find that having all of the notes in front of me allows me to relax and just listen to what she is actually saying, as opposed to scrambling to write words down.

(I guarantee you'll thank me for this one.)


I get ahead on weekly/monthly assignments.

Every month, for my AP Econ class, I have a reading assignment to do. I have to talk about eight different economic concepts and submit them by the 15th of every month. Doing this during my study hall takes a weight off of my shoulders come crunch time.


I enhance my notes.

I am definitely a visual learner without a doubt. With that being said, my notes have to be colorful, drawn out, etc. I find that highlighting different ideas in different colors helps me remember them better come test time.


I blog.

I actually did this a few days ago. During my study hall, I took the time to draft two blog posts. It took a load off my night schedule.


I edit articles for my school newspaper.

If you didn't know I am one of the editors for my school newspaper. Sometimes I will go the newspaper room in order to edit some articles for upcoming issues. I love doing that!


I break.

Before I get in the zone, I like to go to the bathroom first. Do this: for one, you'll be able to concentrate easier and two, you're doing it on your time and not your teacher's. I also like to whip out a snack. It's usually gold fish, but so be it.


I check out Pinterest.

It's no secret that my favorite social media platform is Pinterest. I am constantly looking for homework help, blog post ideas, college-y things, etc. To make the time pass, I simply pin stuff.

My Go To Outfit ft. The Oversized Crewneck

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! I decided to do an outfit post for you all. This outfit is pretty versatile: I wear it to school, to the mall, lazy Sundays, etc. It is definitely one of my go-tos when I'm in a rush (or simply too lazy to pick out something else).



OVERSIZED CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT

Don't be alarmed: the crewneck sweatshirt isn't just for guys. Ladies, you can wear it too! When purchasing one, ensure it is a neutral color that you can style with ease. I went with gray.

I purchased this sweatshirt after I attended the university's instant decision day. I had a quick fifteen minute "interview" where the admission counselor reviewed my essay, grades, and resume. After he told me I had been accepted, I rushed down to the school store and purchased this crew neck. I really haven't been able to take it off since.


BLANKET SCARF

Unfortunately, the scarf I typically wear is not available online. It is only available in Target stores. Click here to view similar scarves from Primark. (I just purchased a few scarves from Primark. They're amazing!)


SKINNY JEANS

Skinny jeans are a given. In this post I am wearing my holy grail Primark skinny jeans. I purchased my jeans just in time for the back to school season. I have several other jeans from American Eagle Outfitters and Hollister Co. but they just don't fit as well as these do.

Pair an oversized top with super skinny jeans in order to create balance. I love doing this with my outfits. It's effortless.


SLIP ONS

You can really wear any shoe you want; from your Adidas originals to your cozy moccasins. I personally go with my outdated Adidas slip ons. They have a very similar shape to Toms, but a much sportier vibe. I really like the contrast I created by adding these shoes to the mix.


ALEX AND ANI BANGLES

In order to spice up my outfit, I wear a set of three Alex and Ani bangles.


And that concludes this fashion post. I definitely wear this outfit more times than not. I find that it's comfortable and cute!

Q&A: I'm 18!

Hi everyone!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I am doing a more relaxed post. I posted on my social media accounts asking for some question from y'all!

@totally_ro: What are the top three places on your wanderlust? 

I've always dreamed about going to Paris. I've seen so many beautiful pictures and have just been in awe since. I also want to go to Bora, Bora. I decided that this might even make a great honeymoon spot. Shoutout to Aspyn and Parker for planting that seed in my head. How romantic would that be? And lastly, I would choose Australia. I definitely want to go zip lining there!


@littlehummer_: How's your journalism class going?

I'm so glad you asked me about this class, Ayele! I've been wanting to talk about my journalism class for awhile. It's definitely a little bit harder than I thought it was going to be. I am the News/Features Editor for my school newspaper; so my responsibilities in the class are a little bit more than the regular reporter. I'm really enjoying the class as a whole. I've learned so much about writing and interviewing. I definitely want to portray that more on my blog as I move forward. Maybe I'll do some interviews on my second blog!


@shannoliviab: What inspired you to start blogging? How did you decide what to blog about?

I love being asked what inspired me to start a blog. I've always had a deep love for writing. It took me awhile to decide what to blog about. For the longest time, my blog was just a place where I stored random thoughts and ideas. As my blog became more developed, I focus more on things that "matter". I most definitely like to cover what's going on in the beauty and fashion industries, but I like to talk about my personal encounters. For example, there was a specific time I composed on peer pressure. From that post on, I decided I wanted my blog to be more lifestyle based. Click here to read my personal narrative.


@mylifeasalyson:What's your favorite thing about blogging?

My favorite thing about blogging is that I have the ability to inspire. Like I said earlier, I wrote about an extremely personal event: my first encounter with the dreaded peer pressure. Long story short, I was apart of the in crowd for once. That was the night I walked into alcohol, dimmed lights, the smell of smoke, and a too loud Blink 182 song. That was also the night I realized being popular wasn't worth all of the backlash that came with it. Writing about that experience was really cool. Being able to inspire... and gain support all at the same time is truly indescribable.


@jgraceblog: What's your plan for college and what would you like to do one day?

I am so excited to share my college plans. I have full intentions on going to Cabrini University, where I will obtain my master's in psychology. I actually went to Cabrini University's Instant Decision Day. After fifteen minutes of the admissions counselor plugging in my grades, reading my essay, and scanning my resume, he said I had been accepted. That was one of the best days ever. I could feel the weight lift off of my shoulders. With that being said, I definitely want to work in the psychology field. One day, it would be really cool to have my own private practice.

I am not moving away from home for college, at least for my first year or two. I am planning on commuting. I think I'm ready. I've prepped myself with college courses throughout my high school career. I definitely want to take that next step.


@ailbhe_woods: What are you hoping to study in college?

I am planning to study psychology. The school I am planning to attend has a five year master program for psychology. I also plan on finishing my minor in Spanish. I've already started it in high school. I just need two more classes to complete it. I also want to explore their journalism concentration. Just because I don't see journalism as a future career doesn't mean I don't want to pursue it as a hobby.
