Must-Haves For Fall

It's been such a long time since I've done a collab on my blog. I thought it was time to introduce you guys to a fun blogger: Chandis Lilly. We decided to put a list together full of our fall must-haves. I have products from not only the beauty and fashion category, but the "random" department as well. I hope you all enjoy this post!



Mascara: One by Calvin Klein

Intense lashes are a definite must for me. This mascara keeps it natural enough for school, yet it darkens my lashes and separates them. I absolutely love making my lashes bolder for the fall season.




Lipstick: Color Whisperer in Made-It-Mauve by Maybelline 

Maybelline lip products are definitely one of my favorites. I literally own every Baby Lips possible. Plum and mauve shades for the fall are definitely a signature look for me. I love this lipstick because you can apply a sheer coat for class and build it up for Friday night mischief. Love, love, love it!




Purse: Michael Kors

Unfortunately I do not know the name of this style, I purchased it an outlet store a year or two ago. It's definitely one of my favorite purses for fall. Anything big and chunky, oh and brown steals my heart at this time of year. Plus, it holds anything and everything I need since I tend to hold a lot more during the fall and winter months! You can't go wrong with a brown/tope bag.



Shoes: Black Flats by So

I purchased these flats at Kohls years ago. I live up North, it's beginning to get slightly breezy outside, but not to the extent of boots and scarves. Artist jeans, a cardigan, a few bangles, and these shoes instantly take your boring outfit into "I Tried So Hard, Not Really, But You Think So" kind of ordeal.



Planner: Lilly Pulitzer

I've never been a true lover of Lilly Pulitzer, but the more and more I discover her work, I adore it. This planner is super cute! I definitely need a planner since school just started. This planner helps me organize my homework, test dates, after school activities, blog post ideas, etc. It's super helpful!




Food: Orville Redenbachers Naturals Simply Salted Popcorn

Snacks are a must when I first come home from school. I've been loving this popcorn lately because it reminds me of fall. I love laying out the couch in my PJs, watching a romantic film, while snacking on this. Plus, it's 100% whole grain!



Music: Badlands (Deluxe) by Halsey

Halsey is addictive. Her music is so powerful. I specifically love the songs "Roman Holiday", "Colors", and "Strange Love". During my free periods you can pretty much guarantee I'll be listening to this album. It's sick!

Life Update: September

Hello everyone,

I've hope you've all been adjusting to the new school year well. Since I'm pretty behind on content material I figured I would post an update of my life on here.


*My tank top and artist jeans are from American Eagle Outfitters.


CLASSES AND HOMEWORK

Never, ever did I think I would be up until 11:00 p.m. doing homework. Here's a run down on my average homework amount: (1) read/study my CE Nutrition book, (2) 2 pages of Chemistry, (3) a few math problems for honors pre-calculous, (4) a section of notes for my honors history class, (5) and lastly, in order to not fall behind I need to keep up with my CE Spanish vocabulary. It takes a ton of time to complete. Sometimes I'll have a reading to do for my English class, but that's rare.

Quick Tip: Create a Pinterest account and take advantage of it. Not too long ago, I had to prepare an essay for my history class. I was really nervous. I wasn't sure what my teacher was actually looking for. I went to Pinterest and looked for some ideas on how to present my information. Those tips helped me earn a 25/25! RELATIONSHIPS

As for personal relationships, I've decided to keep my mind focused on my blog and school work. As much as I wish I was optimistic about high school relationships, I'm not. I've come to the realization, that in my case, it's a complete waste of time. I'm in the process of analyzing God's plan for me; my journal really helps me out with that.

I find that friendships at this point in my life are way more important anyway. I have an amazing group of friends- we're always laughing and talking. I even branched out of my comfort zone and started iniating conversations with strangers. The feeling a simple smile can give me is absolutely crazy.

BLOG BREAKS

Getting a post up once a week was nearly impossible in the beginning of the school year; I just wasn't used to all of the work of junior year. Between my after school extracuriculars, homework, and a "social life", keeping up with my blog is somewhat difficult, but I've been working hard on the weekends- drafting posts, taking pictures, etc. Hopefully the content I'm producing is still somewhat decent.

If the time comes where I don't post here and there, just note that this year is going to be absolutely crazy with everything.

CREATIVITY 

With school being my main priority, and breathing being a close second, I've barely had time to compose in my journal. That nearly kills me. Writing in my journal is so extravegent; it's like I'm in a whole new world. (I would like to specifically give a shoutout to Halsey for beig so brutally honest in her work. It truly inspired me.) I decided I would share a piece of modified poetry with you. It's called "Artist".



Lay me down and drain my mind,
Until my thoughts have disappeared
And I'm paralyzed.

Paint my world in gray
When I'm alone.
Paint my world in color
But only when I'm with you.

You were the paintbrush,
My body was the canvas,
You were such an artist.

You were the red tie with a rose in your hand,
I was the little black dress in your backseat,

10 Ways To Have A Better Morning

Hello everyone,

This week I'm sharing with you 10 ways to improve your morning. Please note that these are my personal tips and I've found they work for me, (I'm not an expert or anything). Hopefully you find that you can squeeze at least one of these activities into your daily morning routine. Enjoy!



1. Start the day off with some sort of physical activity.

Lately, I've been waking up 10-15 minutes early to do a bit of yoga. I focus on my positive energy; it really puts me in a good mood for the rest of the day. If I'm limited on time a quick 3 minute meditation routine is a great alternative. Afterwards I say a quick prayer and thank God for everything. If you're not into yoga or meditation go on a walk around your neighborhood. Inhale the fresh air and focus on the time you're taking to dedicate to yourself.



2. Eat a healthy breakfast.

During the school year it's so easy for me to grab a muffin and run out the door. On Sunday evenings, I spend my time planning out my meals for breakfast and lunch to ensure I'm maintaining a balanced diet. Click here to checkout my favorite Pinterest board for breakfast ideas.




3. Make a to-do list.

While I'm eating my breakfast I like to make a to-do list. It includes blog fixings, housework, and school assignments. When I get home I then prioritize them in which the order they need to be completed. It makes the work load so much more manageable when I do so.



4. Write in a journal. 

I typically write in my journal during morning hours on the weekend. I like to record my dreams and anything else that comes to mind. On the left, you see a list of my writing territories and on the right, I have a typical journal entry about my goals for love. Knowing what I'm searching for helps me choose paths throughout the day- not just about love, the future in general.



5. Listen to music.

If you're not a morning person, this will definitely help you move when you're in a rush to get ready. I've been listening to the "Totally Stress Free" playlist on Spotify. The music is perfect for when I'm drinking a warm cup of tea and applying my makeup. Again, I spend this time generating only positive thoughts.

6. Prepare anything and everything you possibly can the night before.

I am an active list maker for all occasions. Knowing my itinerary for the next morning makes it run much, much smoother. I like to pick out my outfit the night before because it takes me way too long to do it in the mornings. I also like to pack my bag and plan out my breakfast before bed.




7. Drink coffee.

Coffee has such wonderful effects. Personally, I'm not much of a coffee drinker, I'm more of a tea drinker. I like to drink my tea while getting ready in the morning to allow the caffeine to sink into my system before school starts.




8. Check email.

While I am eating my slice of toast and cup of fruit, I spend this time to check my email. I want to ensure that I am well prepared for my day. My school sends out announcements via email and my teachers send out classwork. I also check all of my other school related apps to ensure there were, again, no changes and/or updates to the day.



9. Kiss everyone goodbye.

Start your day off right by saying goodbye to everyone in your household with love and affection. I always make it a point to hug and kiss my mother and/or sister goodbye (oh, and my dog, Macy!) before hopping onto the bus.




10. Reward yourself.

Dedicate some time to yourself in the morning. Typically I like to reward myself at the end of the week. Saturday mornings are my time to draw a hot bath full of bubbles and catch up on my favorite blogs. If you're looking to reward yourself during the long school weeks spend a few spare minutes in the library before homeroom to catch up on one of your favorite books.

Summer Favorites 2015

Hello everyone! x

I hope you're all enjoying your transition to fall. Since summer is coming to a fast end, I thought I would share some of my favorites from the season with you all. I have some beauty, fashion, and music favorites!

I couldn't have survived the summer without these beauty products:

Beauty Blender

I absolutely love, love this beauty blender. I bought mine from Ulta towards the end of the spring season. I definitely see a huge difference in the application process of my foundation and concealer. You can see that this baby has been very loved.



H20+ Products

H20+ is definitely my go-to brand when buying shower products. I have gone through two exfoliators- my skin is super smooth! I've also gone through a few sample bath soaps and lotions. The products are to die for!



Nail Polish Duo

I love this combination for summer; I wore it a ton. It's so bright and fun!



Here are some of my fashion staples from the summer season:

Ran Bans

For those of you that don't know I am a glasses wearer- and I absolutely love my glasses. Glasses definitely a play a role in making your outfit chic and sophisticated. I purchased these prescription Ray Bans because (1) they're black, they go with everything and (2) Taylor Swift wore them in her "22" music video. The choice was obvious.



Black Flip-Flops by Michael Kors

Michael Kors is definitely one of my favorite designers. His pieces are so classic. I love these flip-flops because you can play them up or down depending upon the occasion. I typically make a casual outfit by pairing these shoes with ripped jeans, a solid tank, and silver bangles. (And let's not forget my Wayfers!)



British Exchange Shorts

Can we please have a moment for these shorts? They are super cute and scream summer to me! I need to move to Florida or something so I can wear them all year around!
