J+S Brooklyn Sandals Review

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

This morning I am reviewing a pair of leather flip flops I received from J+S Brooklyn. I am going to be talking about the Natural Thong sandal.

J+S Brooklyn uses extremely think leather, so it took me about three to four days to really break them in. After breaking them in, they were very comfortable to walk around in.

First of all, I absolutely love the design of these flip flops. You can tell they are extremely well made. I absolutely love the embroidery on the heel.

I chose this color because tan goes with everything-- and was I right. I wear them with leggings, jeans, skirts, dresses, etc. I wear them to school, to the mall, out to dinner, etc. I'm even planning on wearing them to my graduation.

These sandals are 100% made in Brooklyn, New York. There is absolutely no outsourcing. Everything is within the United States!

J+S Brooklyn's goal is to make a casual, yet luxury sandals. They definitely achieved their goal. These have been my go to pair of shoes for the past couple of months.

Please note, these flip flops are handmade. So there are some slight imperfections. However, I happen to like the look. I think the small imperfections makes them more casual, whereas the leather adds a touch of luxury.

Overall, I am very pleased with these pair of flip flops. I'm planning on bringing them to all of the pool parties and vacations I go on this summer.

May Favorites ft. The GYM.bag Shop May Box

Hello everyone & welcome back to my blog!

Today I'm sharing my May Favorites blog post with y'all. I have several skincare products to share with y'all, along with some fashion pieces and music preferences.

The Laughing Tree Organics Skincare Products

A few weeks ago, The Laughing Tree Organics sent me a few products to try out. They sent me a foam cleaner, toner, and moisturizer. These products are absolutely incredible. They cleared up my skin just in time for prom. My personal favorite is the moisturizer. Click HERE to read about The Laughing Tree Organics.

Patchology Eye Gels

Patchology is one of my all time favorite brands. With being a busy girl, means I barely have time for a Tuesday night pamper session. Patchology's products are designed to work in a timely fashion for the gal on the move. The night before prom I barely got any sleep. My under eye area was dark purple. These eye gels reduced the puffiness and caught any eyeshadow fall out.

P.S Nose Pore Strips

P.S. can be found at Primark. They have a variety of skincare products. However, I gravitated towards the nose strips. I struggle immensely with blackheads along my nose and cheeks. After using them for several weeks, I've found they work better than the world famous Biore ones. (I'd show you the results, but they're way too gross!)

Benefit's POREfessional Primer

I bought this primer to minimize the appearance of my pores and make my makeup glide on smoothly for prom. This primer worked beyond my expectation. It made my makeup last all night.

GYM.bag Shop May Subscription Box

I absolutely love the GYM.bag Shop subscription box. In each box there is a clothing item, bag, and 2-3 "fun" items. In May's subscription box I received a bunch of goodies, including a bright pink hoodie. It's the perfect transition piece for spring into summer. (Sometimes those spring mornings can be chilly!) I wore mine the day of my AP Statistics test.

This June, use code SUMMER to receive you first box free. Boxes go live on the GYM.bag Shop website on June 1st.

90120

I've been loving this series on Netflix. I'm currently finishing up season one. It's addicting!

Eyes Closed by Halsey

This has definitely been one of my favorite songs this month. I've been playing it every single time I log onto Spotify.

That's What I Like by Bruno Mars

This is my current summer jam. Windows down. Music up. Singing this song.

Bad Liar by Selena Gomez

This is Selena Gomez's latest release. "Your touch like a happy pill."

That concludes my May Favorites. Comment below some of the things you've been loving this month. (Also, comment below some Netflix suggestions. I've already went through One Tree Hill and Baby Daddy.)

Updated Skincare Routine ft. The Laughing Tree Organics

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

I'm super excited for today's post. I'm talking about a bunch of really cool products that have transformed my skin.

Morning Routine

Peter Roth

In the morning I find myself crunched for time, so I like to keep my skincare routine to a minimum. I recently purchased Peter Roth's Foam Cleanser. It works wonders. It smells so fresh and makes my skin feel super clean.

Moisturizer

When I went to Sephora for my prom makeup trial, I had to spend $50. When I got up to the register, the cashier informed me I had some points to cash in. I went with the Ren Evercalm moisturizer because she said it was good for calming redness.

Night Routine

After a long day, I find removing my makeup and taking care of my skin is extremely important. I like to use Neutrogena makeup remover wipes. (You guys have heard me talk about them a million and one times before.

The Laughing Tree sent me some of their products to try out. They sent me their foam cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.

Citrus-Mint Foaming Facial Cleanser // $19

The natural, botanical Foaming Cleanser is extremely gentle on my skin, yet tough enough to rid all bacterial and daily free radicals. After rubbing the product in circular motions around my face, my skin feels super clean. The leading ingredient, witch hazel, is what pulls out the bacteria from your pores, giving you that clean feeling, while not stripping your skin from natural oils. I've found that this cleanser definitely proves it's claim of "effectively cleanses the skin of clogging pollutants, chemical build-up and surface impurities, while moisturizing your skin."

Apple Cider Vinegar and Orange Flower Toner/Cleanser // $16

I've always heard things about apple cider vinegar having the ability to clear breakouts. So, when I saw that this toner was mostly made up of apple cider vinegar, I was extremely excited. I spray 3-5 pumps directly onto my skin. Then, I go in with a cotton round and clean up any excess bacteria and dirt. I love this product!

Pure Radiance Facial Moisturizer // $19

I always thought my skin was extremely dry, but it turns out that's not the case. My skin is extremely dry! The moisturizer is packed full of vitamins and botanicals to keep skin supple and young looking.  I've found that my skin absorbs the nutrients quickly, while holding throughout the night. Overall, this was my favorite product sent to me from the Laughing Tree Organics.

In my February GYM.bag Subscription Box, I received a sample of this facial scrub. I like to use it once a week to exfoliate my face. This is the perfect product to smooth out your skin before makeup application. I used this before applying my makeup before prom.

That concludes my skincare routine! I am a huge fan of natural products that clean my skin, while leaving my skin of natural oils. I highly recommend you checkout The Laughing Tree Organics and get your hands on some of these incredible products.

I Heart Spring Tag

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

This week's posts were kind of short & sweet because I've been super busy. My prom is tomorrow, May 19th. Don't worry-- I'm bringing you guys with me! I'm planning on doing a video that shows me getting ready, taking pictures, and of course dancing! It's going to be a night to remember. Add me on Snapchat (guiliannamarie) for live videos and pictures.

Without further ado, here are my answers to the I Heart Spring Tag:

Favorite spring nail polish?

My favorite spring nail polish is definitely Peachy Keen from Earth Glamour. It's such a pretty color!

What is your must-have lip color this spring?

I've been absolutely loving the shade Heartbreaker from Lip Sense. I'm actually planning on wearing it to my prom tomorrow night because of it's longevity. I've never owned a lip product that lasted as long as this one.

Show us your favorite spring dress!

My favorite spring/summer dress is from Lilly Pulitzer. However, I have yet to wear it. I'm saving it for my graduation. It's so pretty!

What’s your favorite flower?

I love cherry blossoms. They're gorgeous!

Favorite spring scarf/accessory?

I am a huge fan of scarves despite the season. I have a few light weight scarves that I am excited to wear:

What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or both!)

As far as makeup trends go, I am loving the highlighter look. I think it makes the skin look incredible. (I'll definitely be going a little over board with mine tomorrow night.)

As far as fashion trends go, I'm excited to experiment with the 80s and pull out my huge tote bags. I think they're going to be so much fun to rock this spring. (I also heard navy is totally in this season- YES!)

Favorite spring candle?

I don't really burn candles that much. However I love anything with a tropical smell.

Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?

I absolutely love this roller ball perfume I received in my Black Sheep Box last month. It smells so good!

What is spring like where you live?

As of right now it's approximately 60 degrees, but it fluctuates from the mid 40s to the early 80s.

What’s your favorite thing about spring?

I love the warmth of spring. I absolutely hate the cold weather. I'm one of those girls that suffers from SAD.

Are you a spring cleaner?

Yes, yes, and yes! Over spring break I cleaned out my closet, my desk, my vanity, etc. I even did some blog cleaning up.

Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?

Spring break already happened where I live. We didn't go anywhere special. We just hit up the mall and did some shopping. My next vacation is in June-- I'm so excited. We're going to Florida!

And that's the end of the I Heart Spring Tag. I hope you all enjoyed my answers. Comment below some answers to these questions, or better yet do the spring tag and send me a link to your answers.

Mighty Mug Review

Mighty Mug is the world’s only mug that grips to flat, smooth surfaces when knocked into, yet it lifts naturally.

The mug is similar in design to other typical to go mugs. It has a sleek body with an easy twist on lid. The lid also includes a liquid barrier to prevent spills. However, the SmartGrip technology is what separates it from current travel mugs and tumblers on the market.

The SmartGrip Technology makes a Mighty Mug the perfect companion for any situation, such as long car rides and study sessions near a computer.

The mug has a strong resistance when knocked into. It definitely lives up to users’ expectations.

The only downfall to the Mighty Mug is the limited variety of mugs and tumblers. There are only a handful of colors and designs to choose from. However, they're basic designs make for perfect gifts. (Father's Day is right around the corner, guys!)

Here are some of my favorites from their collection:

These mugs are really cool! My family has spent so much time trying to make it fall over.  I definitely recommend you get your hands on one of these cups.

Pretty Things Subscription Box Review

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

Today I'm sharing another subscription box review with y'all. This time I'm talking about the Pretty Things subscription box. May's theme is "My Favorite Things."

The Pretty Things subscription box is fairly priced and will include value above and beyond what you pay. You can order a $25, $35, or $50 box.

You can let Ashely, the face behind all of the pampering goodies, know your specific likes and interests. Therefore, you can expect your box to be tailored to your personality and preferences. I let Ashley know that I have combination skin and here's what she sent me:

The first thing I noticed were these two face masks. I love a good face mask. Immediately I opened the Totes Oats sample mask. (Hopefully this isn't TMI: Right before a certain time of month I was struggling with some acne along the sides of my forehead and chin. I also had a bunch of Spanish tests and quizzes that week. My skin was a mess.) The Totes Oats face mask encouraged my skin to tone down in redness and inflammation. I loved this face mask! Somehow, someway I plan on getting my hands on it again.

As for the All I've Avo Wanted face mask, I'm saving that one for next week. My prom is next week and I want my skin to look bomb. I know this face mask will do the trick.

The next two samples include a hand cream and a body scrub. They both smell absolutely amazing. I specifically loved the scrub. I used it on my arms and legs while in the shower. My skin felt super smooth.

I also received some bath salts (which again smelt so good) and a chocolate bar. The bath salts were so soothing. I only used about half of the bag because I'm saving the rest for the day after prom when I need some chill time.

Chocolate. Need I say more? However, my grandma claimed that pretty quickly; and how can you say no to your grandma?

I also received this gigantic container full of a sweet smelling lotion. It smells just like mango flavored Mambos. It's the perfect scent for spring and summer.

The pink poof was also a pleasant surprise. You can never have enough of these! I used mine to apply the body scrub I mentioned earlier.

This Key Lime Pie soap bar smells absolutely incredible.

And lastly, there was some Sleepytime herbal tea. Again, this is going to be perfect for the day after prom when I've been up for 24 hours straight.

That concludes my review of the Pretty Things subscription box. Overall, I definitely recommend this box, not just for all of the fantastic goodies, but for the amazing customer service. Ashely is one of the sweetest people ever. I promise you won't regret making this purchase.

If you're taking finals in a few weeks, I highly recommend you get your hands on one of these boxes. You're going to need some pamper time after taking that Calculous final.

10 Graduation Style Do's and Don'ts

Hey y'all!

Welcome back to my blog! Today I'm sharing some graduation style tips with y'all. I hope you like them:

1. DO wear something nice underneath your robe.

I'm a classic girl, so I'm going for the traditional white dress. I purchased mine from Lilly Pulitzer. It's super cute!

2. DON'T spend money on something you don't see yourself wearing ever again.

I'm all about recycling clothing. I'm planning on wearing my graduation dress to many, many more events. (I spent way too much not to!) I'll be wearing mine for my graduation, senior pictures, graduation dinner, etc.

3. DO wear comfortable footwear.

I originally wanted to wear a pair of gold flip flops, but that's against dress code. I'll be wearing a pair of nude/black flats and changing into my J+S Brooklyn sandals after the ceremony.

4. DON'T wear something like sneakers.

You want something cute and casual, like flats or wedges. Whatever you wear, make sure you can walk easily in them.

5. DO accessorize!

The back of my dress has a gold starfish zipper. So I'm wearing a gold bracelet with a starfish on it. I purchased it from Charming Charlie's.

6. DON'T go overboard.

I like to stick to the basics: pearl earrings and a bracelet. I wouldn't recommend a statement necklace for this occasion.

7. DO have your nails polished.

I recommend getting a french manicure. However, if you're looking to save some money, a light pink will do just fine.

8. DON'T stress!

Who am I to talk? I'm the queen of stress. It's supposed to be an exciting day, so just wing it! Enjoy yourself!

9. DO smile!

Everyone is going to be taking pictures, so smile! If you're looking for a whitening teeth hack, brush your teeth with baking soda. (Baking soda is the answer to everything.)

10. DON'T forget it's okay to cry.

It's an emotional day for everyone. Just don't forget to wear waterproof makeup. That would be a disaster.

If you're graduating this year, I wish you the best of luck. I'm going to try to vlog during the day for y'all. I graduate on June 6th, ahh! It can't come soon enough!

Black Sheep Box Review (April)

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

Today I have a short review for y'all on the Black Sheep Box.  The Black Sheep Box is a monthly subscription box that contains 3-5 skincare products. All of the products are sustainable, cruelty free, small batch, organic, eco-friendly, and free trade.

Here's what I received in the April box:

The April box included four items: a walnut scrub and butter cream lotion from Bellacures, a perfume roller from Fey Herba Organics, and the Black Sheep Box's very own Tea Tree Goats Milk soap.

I absolutely love this combo from Bellacures. The walnut scrub not only does a fantastic job of getting rid of dead skin cells, but smells amazing. I then followed up with the butter cream. My legs have never felt smoother.

Tea tree is known for it's skin clearing capabilities, so when I saw this I was so excited. I like to use this in the shower.

When I saw that I received a perfume, I was a bit wary. I'm not a fan of strong perfumes. However, this perfume is just the opposite. It's perfect for the spring time. This rollerball is from Fey Herba Organics, an Etsy shop based in Florida. The neutral scent is perfect for on the go use. Because it has a long-lasting scent, I'm planning on wearing it to my prom on May 19th.

That concludes my review of the Black Sheep Box. Overall, I was extremely impressed with this box. It only costs $14.95 a month and as you can see you're definitely getting above and beyond. If you're more interested in the soaps, you can choose to only receive a bar of soap. That's only $5.00-- and shipping is included. The BSB has you covered whether you're looking for a little bit of luxury or something simple. Either way, you'll be pleased when you get your package.

What's In My Gym Bag?

Welcome back to my blog, everyone!

Like I mentioned in my previous blog post, my prom is right around the corner. Right now, I'm all about getting in shape. Because I've been working out quite a bit, I thought I'd show y'all what I keep in my gym bag:

Noelle Collections Headbands

Keeping my hair up and out of my face is extremely important. I love these headbands because they don't slip and slide like other headbands. I can focus on my workout as opposed to my hair.

Alfonso Designs Monogrammed Shorts

Who says you can't look cute while working out? I love these monogrammed shorts from Alfonso Designs, an Etsy shop that specializes in all things monogrammed. They're super cute! I got so many compliments on them when I wore them the other day.

Alfonso Designs Monogrammed Water Bottle

I am personally a fan of lemon water when I workout. This water bottle holds a ton of water which is perfect for working out in this humid weather.

Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets

I have combo to oily skin. When I workout, I get extremely sweaty and gross. These oil absorbing sheets are lifesavers.

Deodorant

Deodorant is extremely important! Sometimes I go out after a workout for a smoothie or something. This keeps my sweat under control until I'm home and can shower.

Nature Valley Snacks

I love Nature Valley. Their snacks are healthy and tasty. I love anything with peanut butter (and dark chocolate). Snacks high in protein are a great option for a post-workout snack.

Headphones + iPhone 6

Of course I bring my headphones! Music is extremely important to me when I'm working out. Here are some of my favorite workout songs as of lately:
  • The Greatest by Sia ft. Kendrick Lamar
  • Now or Never by Halsey
  • Blow Your Mind (Muah) by Dua Lipa
  • Issues by Julia Michaels
  • Most Girls by Hailee Steinfeld

That concludes my gym bag essentials. I hope you liked this blog post. If you're interested in Alfonso Designs, checkout the link below!

Von Blair Beauty Lip Glosses in Copper Pipe and Biker Chic

If you don't have an exfoliator handy, mix baking soda and water together. It makes the perfect substitute. If you have any blemishes, add some honey. As far as a deep cleaning mask goes, try something from 7th Heaven. Their products have yet to fail me. I highly recommend the Tea Tree Masque.
