A New Chapter Is Beginning

Crisp palm leaves and the warm, everlasting sunshine-- what more do you need to fall in love with paradise?

For as long as I can remember, my family wanted to move to Florida. 10 years ago, my parents decided to stay in Pennsylvania for the educational institutions. 4 years ago, my parents decided to stay in Pennsylvania because they wanted my sister and me to graduate with our friends. Now, the timing is right. My sister is in college in Florida and I'm finishing up my bachelor's degree (a year and a half early).

With that being said, the transition has not been easy. Our house sold in a week. So, we moved into an apartment a few towns over. Apartment living was not what I expected to say the least. However, I am enjoying the experience. (My upstairs neighbor talk to me in Spanish. I get a lot of extra practice in!)

Academically, my advisor and the fellow professors in the psychology department have made my transition very easy. One of the professors allowed me to take senior seminar a semester early as a directed study. (Not going to lie: it's kicking my butt, but I'm holding my own.)

We made settlement on our house a couple of weeks ago-- without even seeing it. That's the thing in Florida, you have to make moves fast. Regardless, we couldn't be happier with our home! I can't wait to decorate my room!

The countdown is officially on: in 35 days I'll be on the road.
