Spring Makeup For Date Night

Welcome back to my blog! I recently got a bunch of new makeup products that I'm dying to share with you. Here is my everyday spring makeup routine:

Face It

In order to first prep the skin I use DAILY PROTECTION Broad spectrum SPF 30 Moisturizing Face Lotion by Eucerin. I simply use my fingers to evenly distribute the product. I then follow up with a primer- especially now that it's getting warmer outside.

Following that, I go in with a green concealer to cancel out any redness. I like COVER STICK™ CORRECTOR CONCEALER IN GREEN CORRECTS REDNESS by Maybelline.  I then go in with Face Defender BB Cream Foundation by Mally Beauty. The reasons why I love this product are endless; it leaves you with a healthy looking complexion and lasts all day. If I have any redness still showing in I go with in my go-to concealer from Neutrogena. I've been using this product for the past three years: SkinClearing Blemish Concealer by Neutrogena. After letting that sit for a few minutes I apply a powder to set it: DREAM WONDER™ POWDER IN CLASSIC IVORY by Maybelline.

After my base makeup is complete I like to go in with a natural looking blush. I apply this to the apples of my cheeks. Then, I go in with high beam liquid highlighter by Benefit Cosmetics on the bridge of my nose and cheek bones. This adds a glowing effect to my features.

On some occasions, I'll go in with a bit of bronzer.


Glam Brows

If you're an active glasses wearer your brows cannot be forgotten. I like to first comb them out. Following that I go in with a light brow powder. Mine is from Ulta Cosmetics. Then, I use a spoolie to ensure there are no harsh lines. Unfortunately I could not find a link to the products on Ulta's website. I got them both in one of their exclusive makeup bags.


Sparkly Lids

I first start off with using a primer. My personal favorite is SHADOW INSURANCE PRIMER by Too Faced. Then I start going in with all sorts of stuff. For a base color I use Evercolor Shadow Stick in Pink Champagne by Mally Beauty. I absolutely love this color; it's gorgeous. Then, I apply a dark brown shade to deepen my crease. Following that, I use a black shadow and a winged eyeliner brush to line my upper and lower lashes.

Here's the simple stuff: I curl my lashes with my favorite Primark eyelash curler. With that being said, I like to change up my mascara every now and then. Lately I've been using HUGE™ Extreme Lash Mascara by Stila Cosmetics. My lashes look super flirty afterwards.


Lippies

Hi Hi HI After using a lip balm to create a smooth base for my lips, I apply a pink gloss to add a bit of shine. Lately, I've been using a Lip Glaze in Apricot by Stila Cosmetics.


Ready, Set, Go!

Lastly, I seal the look with a setting-spray. My personal favorite All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray by Urban Decay.

I absolutely love this look! It's something with a little more glam for a Saturday night out.

How To Love Your Glasses

Welcome back to my blog!

This week I'm talking about an insecurity I've fought with for quite some time. I go in phases where I hate my glasses and then I love them. For the past few weeks I've been on a high with my glasses.

First, rid every horrible thought you've had about your glasses.

I'll save you the boring medical facts about my eyesight. What you need to know is that I'm almost blind without them. Wearing glasses isn't a sign of disability or handicap. It took me awhile to digest it, but I completely debunked that idea.


Glasses make the woman.

My dad always tells me this and I don't thank him enough for that. This really boosts my confidence when wearing glasses. Both of my grandmothers wear glasses; they look absolutely stunning in them.   Even the coolest celebs wear them: Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Aniston, Lucy Hale, Selena Gomez, etc.


Glasses have this crazy association with sophistication.

Since way back when, the "nerds" always wore glasses in TV shows and movies. There's nothing wrong with being smart. According to several online magazines, smart is the new sexy.


Glasses are a fashion accessory.

Ever since I was fifteen I put a lot of time and careful consideration into picking out frames. Because I wear them for a year, I like to splurge a little. Burberry, Calvin Klein, and Michael Kors have an amazing collection to choose from.


Glasses make makeup fun.

A few weeks ago, I went to Ulta Beauty and got my makeup done by Mally's makeup crew from the UK. The artist did a thick liner on my upper lash line. Instant transformation!

As for making it fun, it also makes it easy: say goodbye to dark circles and a slimmer nose! No need for contouring!


Glasses add a touch of personality.

Honestly, who would I be if I ditched my glasses? I've been wearing them since I was three years old! They add something very special to my personality.


In the end, I really do love my glasses. My eyesight isn't an insecurity like it was in middle school. Glasses have so many positives. I don't know why I didn't see them before.

Flat Thong Sandals - Miller by Tory Burch

A good quality pair of sandals is definitely on my checklist to purchase before summer. Currently, I own a black pair of Michael Kors flip flops; they've survived everything. A brown pair of high quality  sandals are definitely a must!

Whale Logo Baseball Cap by Vineyard Vines

This baseball cap is super cute! Unfortunately, I don't own a single baseball cap. My main reason for wanting it is because it can easily transform a boring, casual outfit to something cute and preppy. 

Simply Southern Collection Weekender Bag in Mint MU838-MINT-CORAL

Who doesn't love a large tote, especially now that the beach season is approaching? 

I found this while browsing on Polyvore. It looks large enough for weekends at the beach, or even a carry on for long airplane rides.

Faux Pearl Stud Earrings by Kate Spade New York

These earrings are adorable! They're perfect for daytime walks or evening dinners. The versatility of these earrings is exactly what I'm looking for.

Mikayla Scallop Hem V-Neck Shift Dress by Lilly Pulitzer

Lilly Pulitzer is one of my favorite brands if not my favorite. I am definitely in love with the preppy look: collared shirts, flats, Alex and Ani bangles, etc. 

Lilly Pulitzer has a balance between classy and cute. 

I would wear this out to a family barbecue or an outdoor wedding. It can be dressed up or down depending upon the occasion. 

Short Curpo Jumpsuit by Zara

Black is such a universal color. I love wearing my black one piece bathing suit with black shades and sandals. It looks so chic. A black romper paired with those accessories is to die for!

PRPCLASSOY-SPINK by Simply Southern

When I went down to Virginia last summer I discovered the Simply Southern collection. All of their shirts are really cute- plus, they're owned by every preppy blogger I know.

This shirt says "Preppy & Classy," does it get much cuter than that? Idts.

Seafolly Boyle Maillot from Anthropologie

I am all about being conservative. I love high-waisted and one piece suits for beach/pool days. I can definitely see myself wearing it with some white framed sunnies like the model on the website.

Spring Beauty Wishlist

Mally Beauty Face Defender BB Cream, Light 1.8 oz (53 ml)

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend an event at Ulta Beauty. It was so cool! I got to try a bunch of the latest released products from Mally's cosmetic line. This BB cream is perfect for spring- it's lightweight with a great amount of coverage. 

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick

Here, another product I instantly fell in love with. My eyes popped. Application has never been so easy with this product. I love that I can throw it in my purse for quick touch-ups too! How convenient?!

MakeUp Eraser

Awhile back I saw this at Sephora. It seems like such a great idea: it's an instant reusable makeup remover. All you have to do is add water. This definitely a product I want to invest in.  Say hello to an extra $30 next month! 

Butter LONDON Nail Lacquer, Kip 0.4 oz (12 ml)

I adore butter London nail lacquers! They're incredible. I'm so impressed with how they glide on and their longevity. I really want to get my hands on some pastel colors for spring.

Stila Lip Glaze

I currently own one Stila lip glaze and to be perfectly honest, I don't think I want to purchase any other lip product. This one has officially stole my heart. I definitely plan on purchasing a few more with my Ulta gift card.

Bobbi Brown Pink Brightening Brick

While browsing the Sephora website I came across this product. All shades needed in one palette; what more could you ask for? These shades are absolutely gorgeous. I love wearing something with a glow, especially for the spring and summer seasons.

Benefit Cosmetics Roller Lash Curling Mascara

I admit: I'm a mascara junkie. I love all types of mascaras from high-end to the drugstore, I'm your girl. This mascara is getting quite the hype, it's time I find out what for!


Benefit Cosmetics Sun Beam Highlighter Bronzer

Who doesn't love bronzed, glowing skin during the spring and summer months? I have three others from this collection, one of them being High-Beam. I am in love! I saw an instant transformation in the appearance of my skin. It was glowing! I'm sure Sun Beam is just as satisfying.
